Hot Days ~ Tired Kiddos

These hots days have worn out the kiddos...everyone wanted to play outside this morning so we did, I will admit I was ready to come inside well before they were. A quick shower and we ran some errands and were home for lunch and naps.  Everyone was asleep much quicker than normal...

Kailynn snoozing...
 along with Ellie...
and Mason...all at the same time. (mommy's favorite)
Pete got home from work and was exhausted as it is have been much hotter  inside the plant as even compared to outside and considering it is has been at, near or over 100...not so enjoyable! He went downstairs and fell asleep for awhile so the kiddos and I had dinner and then headed to the place in Kouts for ice cream and then came home to take a dip in the pool before bedtime.

Ellie not minding that the water was cold...
Kailynn also didn't seem to notice...
more concerned about the bug floating around and needing to remove it..
Mason however thought otherwise...way to cold for his liking

Happy Tuesday

Mason has become quit the eater...he likes table food and has found that many of the snacks the girls eat are tasty.  The girls had cereal for breakfast, he also had some. It was more of a way to keep him entertained in his chair while I got breakfast ready but he was very happy!!!

The "O" man!
Don't think about taking this cheerio out of my little fist...all mine!

Busy Sunday

We headed off to church this morning, back home for a short stop before heading up to "mommy's work" aka  JCP portrait studio.  There is a new event going on soon called fishing and fairies and there were lots of new props that had just come in so the manager had us all come in to play with the stuff a little before the event started. The kids were the guinea pigs.  I don't often say this after getting pictures taken with them...but all 3 did awesome! We stopped and got ice cream on the way home because they had done so well and because one of the things on our summer list of fun things to do was to have ice cream for dinner one night! I decided we would just go through McDonalds and get the mini McFlurries since it was the most convenient...I asked Ellie and Kailynn which flavor they wanted...Ellie's response M&M, Kailynn's response chicken nuggets.  She so far is not our ice cream child!! After we got home we got to take advantage of a neighbors pool for a while.  The girls LOVED it...both were a little hesitant at first to jump in and after about 10 minutes they turned in to jumping, splashing fishies!  Home for showers, and snacks (which was more like a dinner but Ellie told me it was only a snack because we couldn't have dinner twice, and ice cream was dinner!) A little reading and then something we don't really ever do...2 girls got rocked to sleep after a very busy day!  Kailynn took approx. 3 minutes to fall asleep and Ellie about 10. (Mason was already in bed...he was done after we read one story)

A Toothy Smile

We were surprised when in the last couple of weeks Mason had his 2 bottom teeth pop through.  Mostly, because the girls were both much later in getting their first teeth.  Kailynn is still missing all 4 of her eye teeth... Just another reminder that they are all different!!!

Happy Guy
A big grin showing off those 2 bottom teeth

As for Ellie bean...the picture doesn't do justice to injury on her face...she fell off her bike this morning when she turned to sharp and scraped up her face, arm, and leg...her eye was beginning to turn back and blue...chalk it up to Summer battle wounds!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Apparently I didn't take many pictures this weekend...Saturday I had to work for a little while and then came home to work on getting stuff ready for Fun and Field Day at Trinity. Later that evening Alyssa and the boys came up for a little playing and she brought dinner for our anniversary!  Sunday we spent the afternoon at the Hildbrandts for a cook-out...(I must have been using Alyssa camera when I took pictures, I will have to get some as I have no pictures from the day) We had fun, it was quit warm so we stay inside most of the time, the kids did play outside in the pool for a while and enjoyed popsicles outside.  Monday we took a family trip over  to Trinity to pound in some stakes for Field Day and then headed home for lunch and nap time.  The rest of the day was spent doing Field Day preparations...going to the Hildebrandts to drop off the girls who spent the night since I had to leave early Tuesday morning to go to school.

Ellie excited to find Daddy at home for an extra day on Monday

Mason found a rubber chicken that was for one of the games for Field Day

Navy Shirt..right in the middle under the Class of 2026 is Cadester!!! It seems like a long time from now, but I am guessing it will go quicker than we would like it too.

Off to the Dr.

I took Mason to the Dr. up in Chicago today for his appointment to check on his belly issues.  The dr. seemed to think things looked ok..and put him on some medicine to see if that made things easier for him, I guess we will see in the next  couple of weeks!

Mason was a great traveler and good while we were at the dr.  A book and dinosaur occupied his time!

Thinking of doing some reading

 Happy most of the time!

Just a goofy expression!

Filling the Sandbox

The girls were very excited to see that when we got home from a quick trip to the Hildebrandts to drop some things off, that Daddy had gone to the store to get sand for the new sandbox.  They have been loving the swing set and were excited to try out the new sandbox and have more room to play.

Ellie supervising the unloading
Daddy tried to convince the girls that "all the sand was in the sandbox and it was time to play" Ellie kindly informed him that sand in the bags wasn't much fun
Kailynn takes over supervising the opening of the bags
making sure to point out where more sand is needed
Excited to start playing in the sand...the sandbox is a good place to look for Kailynn if you can't find her...she likes to spend lots of time in there digging and building
Mason really just concerned about his tummy being filled..sandbox to come later!

Monday Morning Entertainment

So on a Monday morning what to do what to do...I was cleaning up the kitchen, putting some groceries away and cleaning out a little. I found a box of cereal that had gotten pushed to the back that was not going to get eaten because neither girl really liked it so I was going to toss it....then it came to me...

I took the cereal put it into pans for the girls, handed them spoons, measuring cups, and other scooping devices and they played for 45 minutes scooping, dumping, stirring, etc.  Something new and different and they loved it. Needless to say we set the pans on the counter to be played with later, and after naps that was the request, to play with cereal.  Cheap entertainment, I like it!!!

Kailynn loves digging and dumping
 Cheesy Smile from Ellie
 2 girls happily playing

A spoonful of cereal helps the morning hours pass

No cereal for Mason...but some time playing with blocks instead

Mom, I got it!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommas!

We spend our day going to church and hanging out at home getting things done!

Ellie and Kailynn have been loving the new swing set Daddy built.  Ellie is very happy with herself that she can get on the swing without help...however all the work she goes through to climb on from the back exhausts me.  But she can "do it herself"
Proud Chica
They love spending lots of time right here...push me push me push me (actually they both prefer underducks or as they call them underdogs)
Happy day with my 3 kiddos...(all a little wind blown...but my blondies never-the-less)
First Mother's Day on the outside!

Another Busy Saturday

So we have had a crazy month of May and this weekend is really no different! Nana and Papa left this morning to head to Greg's for the weekend, and I got read to head to a birthday party!  Alyssa and I pulled off our dinosaur party, it went fairly smoothly we both thought which was nice!  I then rushed home to join up with the rest of the gang so we could get ready and head out to Pete's bowling banquet.  When I arrived home I check the girls' room to make sure they were both up from naps...neither was there. I headed to our room to see who still need to get changed, hair done, etc.  Ellie was with Pete in the bathroom, Mason sitting on the bouncy seat, but no Kailynn. I asked Pete where she was and he answered with..."she isn't up from her nap yet" I asked him where she was because she wasn't in here bed. He replied, "I let her sleep in our room." I turned around and looked in our bed and she wasn't there...obviously utterly confused at this point I ask Pete again where is she?  He replies I put her to bed in our bed and when I came back to check on her, she had climbed in the baby cradle in our room and that is where she fell asleep. Crazy Kailynn is her name for goooooooooooooooood reason!

A little love with Nana before she heads out
Waiting for everyone to get ready to leave

Happy Friday

Today was spent visiting with Nana and Papa who came down yesterday as well as running around finishing details for the dinosaur party.  Don't be confused it is not one of our birthdays...Alyssa and I donated to the Trinity Auction back in March a "hassle free" birthday party. Basically we are taking care of the party, games, treat bags, cake, and decorations!  The party theme that was chosen was dinosaurs...hope we are ready!

A little Mason for your Friday!

Where is May Going...Please Slow Down

So it seems that May at our house is packed full of activities and just as one event comes and goes another is on the horizon.  Last weekend my brother and family were here to pick up my nephew, Aaron from college as well as celebrate my niece Katie's 18th birthday.  Great time, lots of fun...hope to get pictures at some point from Angie to share of the scavenger hunt that took place for the birthday celebration.  This coming weekend Alyssa and I are planning a dinosaur party as part of a donation we made to the Trinity auction back in March.  Hopefully the kids will enjoy it and all will go as planned....and that is just the first 2 weekends in May. Never fear there is something each weekend so if anyone happens to know where the slow down button is could you please send me a link...I think I would like to log in!!!

With that being said...I am trying to look around during the day and remember not to be to busy to notice the little things with the 3 kiddos and realize that "stuff" will get done but they will also grow up way to quick and I need to pay attention now before it happens!

Ellie's request each morning if the timing is right...is that she get to hold Mason..this morning she fed him a bottle while I jumped in the shower...big cheese but love it none the less!!!

Tonight a trip to check on each of them and just be thankful for 3 little people!!!
